She was born Lo’Retta May Snipe in a single-wide off Highway 9 outside of Gasoline Alley, Mississippi. Virgo, Retro Gatorade rising. She’s 5’5”, measures 38-25-36, and says she’s “never paid for surgery, only layaway.” Her people are Scotch-Irish and Assemblies of God.

Lo’Retta first showed up in Pillow Sins No. 73 after she marched into the Knights Inn off County 12 where they were doing tryouts. She didn’t have an appointment, but she told the desk clerk she did. He called upstairs and said, “This Snipe woman’s here.” Ten minutes later she was under a motel lamp with a carton of Marlboros and a can of Aqua Net, and that was enough.

Her career included spreads like Couch Cushions of Calhoun County, The Throw Pillow Massacre, and the infamous Ladies Auxiliary Calendar. She once did a promotion at the Dollar Baptistry where every signed issue got you half-off baptismal candles.

She lives today in Thigville Estates Trailer Park, lot #14, with her grandson, two pit mixes, and an on-again/off-again boyfriend who works nights at the Conoco. She says she’s “semi-retired,” but still cuts hair in her kitchen for cash.
