Art, satire and friendly narcissism

To the attention of some guy

Hey man

I wrote this stream of consciousness – and didn’t really spillcheck. 😉

I have finished my animated short and this is your formal invite to watch it. You’ll need 25 minutes to see the entire thing (if you want, you surely don’t have to and it’s a-ok to scrub the vid, like anything I share it’s not a requirement).

So some business stuff first. We are 2.5 weeks away from moving, you are overwhelmed. But let’s keep the embers a going for starting weekly meetings (let’s start with that for now, if anything just to say hi).

Onto this animation and why I’m sending it to you. You’ll often note how much I found meaning of when you said “do what you love” and while I’ve heard that all my life, it never sunk into until you said that and I did the Diz500 heads challenge.

I have found doing art for people with having an agenda has been… so good for my brain and it’s where I excel. This animated short will reflect that and my thanks to you for having a hand with helping that part of my brain.

I am so, so thankful for your friendship, man. I have a tough time finding guy friends I’ll hang out with (mainly because most guys are busy with performance-gruff-alpha-male shit, at least in my circles they are….so talking about “the big spornts game” is always lost on me. Of course anime is lost on me too but at least it’s art…of sorts 😉

There is a little surprise for you at the end when the blue bear starts singing. So if you find your mind wandering, do pay attention to that part 🙂

Art Project: “Surfing the Apocalypse”

The Two Rules I had for myself

  1. could never lean into seeking external validation, all of it had to be what I found had meaning to me.
  2. I picked around twenty people to share this with, personally and you are one of them. You never have to watch, share or reply. I love it and watch all my videos over and over…this has been very healing to me.

This is a reflection of my how my brain interprets the world around it and how I see things.

oh and pay no attention to the likes thing below, it’s some code I put in to be funny and now I don’t know how to get rid of it, nor do I care… lolz.
